Fetch Text URL – Firefox Extension Update
UPDATE (02/19/2010): After patiently waiting for an update and not getting one, I updated the Fetch Text URL 1.6.4 to work with Firefox 3.6.x. I take no credit for the Add-on which was created by Jeff Chien. It is a fantastic plugin and strongly recommend using it. I simply updated the version of FF that it will work with and included a required file in the install. This is the English version of the Add-On.
do you think is it possible to make this ex works with thunderbird?
Good question. I toyed with Thunderbird over a year ago, but don’t have it currently installed to test it much less try to make it work. If I get time, I’d love to see if I can make it work. Can’t promise anything since I’ve got a learning-curve to go through, but I may give it a whirl. I’ll contact you if I do get something to work.

Today FF3.5 was released … and again I’m missing FetchTextURL …
Do you see a chance to make FetchTextURL to work with FF3.5?

It should work with any version of FF3. I’m pretty sure it was working at work, but since I’m on vacation I can’t confirm. Richard, could you confirm if it works on the latest release of FF3.5? If not, I’ll test next week when I get home.
Hoping this will be compatible with FF3.5. I’m delaying installation of 3.5 until I know, as I use this extension constantly.

I would pretty much suggest to try asking the original author for permission in taking over the addon or perhaps just publishing this addon on the mozilla site but giving credit to the original author. It’ll save alot of people alot of time since the original isn’t compatible with FF3.5 any longer. =(

Totally agree with you shinn! Prior to my unofficial update, I attempted to find the original author but the URL to his homepage was no longer available. I take absolutely no credit to this wonderful extension and do hope he updates it.
UPDATE: I just clicked on “All Versions” on the extension page and it does show an experimental 1.6.4 added to the list (added yesterday – June 30th). Seems like the author is now working on an update!

moneybaron.org and markpemberton.com have a Javascript trojan called IFrame-EE embedded in the page. It’s all the numbers at the bottom. You need to clean this out and change your passwords.
